NFL Draft Party

Through the first 44 years in Independence Bowl history, 73 I-Bowl stars have been drafted in the first round of the NFL Draft. The Independence Bowl NFL Draft Party was an event in its first year in 2019, as fans gathered at Walk-On’s in Shreveport to hear some former Independence Bowl stars hear their names called in the first round.

Kickoff Dinner

The Independence Bowl’s Kickoff event returns on Saturday, July 10th at the Shreveport Convention Center with Marcus Spears featured as the keynote speaker. An LSU All-American, Spears played for the Dallas Cowboys in the NFL and is currently on air talent for NFL Live, Get UP!, First Take, and SportsCenter.  Tickets are $50 and tables of eight are $400. Doors open at 5:30 PM for happy hour, dinner is served at 6:00 PM, with the program beginning at 6:45 PM.

 

 

Big Game Show

Before the teams take to the gridiron, they will have to battle it out in the “Big Game Show.” Coaches and players from both teams will compete in an array of game show-style competitions, and the audience will have a chance to participate too!

The annual Fellowship of Christian Athletes Breakfast is presented each year for the participating teams and their coaching and administrative staffs. Hosted by the NWLA FCA Chapter, this event annually hosts more than 500 guests, offering breakfast, and featured speakers who give their personal testimonies. Tickets for the FCA Breakfast will go on sale at a later date.

Rally on the Red

The game isn’t until Saturday, December 18 but the party will be officially underway on Friday night in downtown Shreveport! Join the full night of free festivities – including the Mardi Gras Preview Parade, Pep Rally and Battle of the Bands, and the free Block Party Concert. You don’t want to miss out on the fun! More details will be released at a later date.

Mardi Gras Preview Parade, Pep Rally & Battle of the Bands

Fans can enjoy a FREE parade and get a small taste of what is to come during the Mardi Gras season – with floats from local Mardi Gras Krewes! The parade will culminate in a pep rally and battle of the bands in the Red River District!

After the Mardi Preview Parade and Pep Rally & Battle of the Bands, fans can watch a FREE concert in the Red River District under the Texas Street Bridge. More details on the Block Party will be released at a later date!
