Fans are able to sport their favorite Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl 50th anniversary gear, as the official 50th anniversary merchandise and throwback t-shirts are now available on the bowl’s online shop. The shop features unique “vault” throwback Comfort Colors tees and a variety of items featuring the 50th anniversary logo, including polos, t-shirts, pullovers, sweatshirts and hats.
Commemorative Print
To help commemorate the Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl’s 50th anniversary in 2026, artist Craig Routh designed a 50th anniversary commemorative print. With such a long and rich history, there may be no better way to celebrate 50 years of Independence Bowl than to celebrate the stars who have come through Independence Stadium throughout the first 49 years of the game and helped fans create the memories they still talk about. The Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl will reveal the top 50 players in the game’s history weekly, counting down from 50 until revealing the number one player on December 7!
Bowl Day Brew
The Independence Bowl and Great Raft Brewing have produced a special “Independence Pale Lager” to help commemorate the 50th Anniversary. Named “Bowl Day Brew,” this pale lager is being distributed by the Bowl’s beverage partner, Eagle Distributing.
The beer is available in the Great Raft Brewing Tap Room. With every pint sold at the Tap Room, $1 will be donated to the Independence Bowl’s 1st & Give philanthropic program. Fan Memory Submissions
Another aspect of the Independence Bowl’s 50th anniversary celebration, currently open for fan participation, is the Fan Memory Submissions. Fans can submit their favorite Independence Bowl memories by clicking the button below.
Select memories will be posted online and will be shown during the 50th Radiance Technologies Independence Bowl on Tuesday, December 22 at 7:30 p.m.
50-Year Reflection: A Historic Exhibit
As the nation celebrates America 250, three organizations in Shreveport – the Independence Bowl, Red River Revel and SRAC – celebrate 50 years, and the three legacy organizations have partnered to honor their history with 50-Year Reflection: A Historic Exhibit from August 22 through October 9 at artspace.
The milestone exhibit, curated by Bruce Allen, takes visitors through the storied history of all three organizations. Taking place at artspace at 708 Texas Street, the 50-Year Reflection offers insight into how the Independence Bowl, Red River Revel and SRAC have been intertwined into Shreveport’s culture and helped shape the community.
Documentary
The Independence Bowl, in partnership with No Homework Productions, is producing a 50th anniversary documentary to tell the story of 50 years of Shreveport’s college football bowl game!
Stay tuned later this year to find out where you can watch the documentary and take a look back at the illustrious history of the bowl and the people who have been such a major part of the story!
Interactive Trivia Series
Fans can test their Independence Bowl knowledge through an interactive trivia series throughout the 50th anniversary year!
Trivia questions are being posted on the Independence Bowl’s social media accounts throughout the year for fans to participate in.
The bowl will also announce trivia nights at local restaurants and bars during the fall of 2026. Stay tuned to the Bowl’s website and social media for more information about the trivia nights!
Bowl Week & Gameday
The Bowl Week and gameday experience will take fans through the decades of the Independence Bowl, from Rally on the Red the night before the game to Coca-Cola Fan Fest on gameday!
Music, photo opportunities and more will give local and traveling fans a look back and a small taste of all the good times the Independence Bowl has been through!
