The Independence Bowl will be hosting a FREE youth football clinic for area kids between the ages of 5-13. The clinic will be held on Saturday, June 13 from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at Shreveport’s Independence Stadium.
Boys and girls, ages 5-13 are invited to participate in the FREE, non-contact clinic led by former student-athletes and area college coaches. In addition to football fundamentals, participants will learn about perseverance, determination and discipline, all of which are necessary in achieving their potential in both life and sports.
Registrants will be able to participate in offensive, defensive, and special teams drills while being coached by current college coaches from around the region, including Northwestern State, Grambling State, Mississippi Valley State and Louisiana College, with others expected to attend. Former Louisiana Tech kicker Matt Nelson will also be among the volunteer coaches at the event.
The clinic application can be filled out below, or the PDF version is available and can be scanned and emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or faxed to (318) 221-7366. A waiver must also be filled out for each participant, and is available as a PDF below. If a waiver is not emailed or faxed by a parent or legal guardian for a participant prior to the clinic, one must be signed at registration on the day of the clinic.
