youth_football_01In 2013, the Independence Bowl Foundation announced it will be a partner of local youth football leagues in conjunction with the newly established Youth Football Program. For the 2013 football season, the Independence Bowl Foundation partnered with the YMCA of Northwest Louisiana youth football league and the Shreveport Public Assembly and Recreation youth football league.

The mission of the Youth Football Program is to positively impact regional youth football leagues by providing financial support, tangible benefits and unique experiences.

youth_football_02The Independence Bowl Foundation will make a monetary donation to both leagues, with the funds to be used at their discretion.

As part of the partnership, every player in the leagues will have an official bowl patch – the same patch worn by the players of the participating teams in the bowl – affixed to their uniforms for the season.

Each player and coach from the winning team in each age group from the SPAR league and all the teams in the sixth-grade age group from the YMCA league will received free tickets to attend the Independence Bowl. Additionally, those teams will be honored on the field prior to kickoff.

Families of all children who participate in the SPAR or YMCA youth football leagues will have the opportunity to purchase tickets to the Independence Bowl at a special price.

Thank you to the participating youth football leagues!
